Tired of fighting? There's another way through.

You really want this relationship to work out. You miss when it was easy, when you two just had fun together. There was a time when being with your partner felt natural, even effortless. But as time has gone on, it feels like everything keeps getting harder, and you are not sure how you got here.

You miss the passion. You miss feeling like you were the most important people to each other. That feeling of being chosen, of being each other's person, it used to be something you could count on. Now it feels like there is always something pulling you apart. Your jobs. The kids. Your families. The list of things competing for your attention never seems to get shorter, and somewhere in the middle of all of it, the two of you have gotten lost.

You are so tired of fighting. Not just the big arguments, but the low-grade tension that sits underneath ordinary moments. The way a simple conversation can turn into something loaded. The way you can be in the same room and still feel miles apart. It is exhausting in a way that is hard to explain to people who have not felt it themselves.

And underneath all of it, you just want to be back on the same page again.
Something in you is still reaching toward this relationship. You would not be here if you had already given up.

Finding Your Way Back to Each Other

I'm Sarah, a licensed clinical social worker based in Chicago, Illinois, offering relationship therapy online to individuals who are ready to take an honest look at what is and is not working in their relationship.

I work with people at every stage of a relationship, whether you have been together six months, six years, or six decades. What brings most people to my door is not one single blowup but the slow accumulation of disconnection. The growing sense that you and your partner are speaking different languages and neither of you can quite find the translation. My work is about helping you figure out what is actually happening between you, what is within your control to change, and how to start showing up for each other and for yourselves in ways that feel real and sustainable.

Therapy with me is not stiff or overly clinical. I talk with clients in a down to earth, real way. There is space here to get into the tough stuff, and there is also genuine room for humor and lightness. I believe that laughter and joy are part of how people reconnect, not a distraction from the work. You do not have to choose between doing the hard things and actually enjoying the process.

I bring more than 17 years of experience working with people from all walks of life, including significant time at domestic violence agencies. That work shaped how I understand relationships in a deep and lasting way. I know how complicated it can be to navigate relationships where power and control dynamics are present, and how much courage it takes to look clearly at those patterns whether you are trying to stay or trying to leave. Whatever you decide, you will not be judged here.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to help you explore what you actually believe and value, and to support you in living those things as fully as possible.

What Relationship Therapy Online Actually Looks Like

Relationship therapy online with me is focused, practical, and personal. We look at the specific dynamics showing up in your relationship and work together to identify what is driving the distance between you and your partner. Sessions give you space to process what is hard while also building real, usable tools for how you communicate and connect going forward.

Some of what we work on together:

  • Understanding the communication patterns that keep pulling you apart and finding more effective ways to get through to each other

  • Identifying what is actually within your control and releasing what is not

  • Discovering the unique ways you can show up more fully for yourself and for your partner

  • Building toward a relationship that has room for both the hard conversations and the good ones

This is not about fixing you or your partner. It is about helping you find your way back to each other with more clarity, more tools, and more room to breathe.
